Holy Cross Recap

13 Nov

The College of Charleston men’s basketball team commenced its 102nd season with a 78-69 victory over Holy Cross on Nov. 11 before a sellout crowd at TD Arena. It marked the 15th all-time sold-out game in the venue’s history and the official Cougar debut of highly-touted freshman Adjehi Baru. Sophomore Trent Wiedeman registered his fifth career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while junior point guard Andrew Lawrence turned in 16 points on 3-of-4 shooting from the floor and 3-of-4 marksmanship from beyond the arc in just 27 minutes of action. He played sparingly in the second half due to cramps. Sophomore Jordan Scott, who made his first career start, knocked down a career-high nine points including two of the team’s seven three-pointers on the night against the Crusaders.
