Davidson Video Recap

3 Dec

The Cougars opened Southern Conference play with an 82-73 victory over Southern Division rival Davidson at Carolina First Arena. CofC students and 4,361 Maroon and White-clad fans welcomed back the team in full force to mark the 10th-largest crowd in arena history. The Cougars didn’t disappoint in their first game home in Charleston since Nov. 16.

Beat Davidson stickers were a hot item of the night as well as Maroon and Gold Piggly Wiggly T-Shirts  given out to the first 1,000 students in attendance. The George Street Observer, the student newspaper on campus, was also handed out during the pre-game introduction of the opponents – a tradition seen at Kansas among other schools across the country. Mr. Pig was also on hand as he enjoyed pregame shootaround interacting with several of the CofC players and could be seen dancing on the sidelines throughout the contest 🙂

Andrew Goudelock’s buzzer beater with 0.2 seconds left, tied the game up at 44-all, and the Cougars went into halftime with a boost of confidence that was reflected in the second half of play versus the Wildcats. CofC is off to a 1-0 start to its SoCon campaign.
