Cougars Open Southern Conference Play With Davidson

2 Dec

After enduring nearly a month of travel on the road in some of the nation’s toughest college basketball venues at Maryland and North Carolina, the College of Charleston men’s basketball team (4-3, 0-0) now returns home to the friendly confines of Carolina First Arena for the remaining balance of its schedule prior to the New Year. The Cougars will open up Southern Conference play by hosting Davidson (3-3, 0-0) on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. (ET) as part of a challenging three-game homestand in a span of six days. CofC will also be tested by the likes of Georgia Southern on Dec. 4 and 2010 NCAA Tournament participant and defending Atlantic Sun Conference champion East Tennessee State on Dec. 7. The Cougars boast a 25-5 all-time home record (.833) at their two-year-old, state-of-the-art arena and will play all five of their next games of the season in Charleston. They are looking for a fresh start in the month of December after a 74-69 loss at No. 25 UNC on Nov. 28 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
